Our read on the Philadelphia Phillies

Philadelphia ran the most stable lineup in baseball in 2025. The Phillies used 92 different batting orders, the fewest of any club, and only 18 players started a game as a batter, also the fewest. Kyle Schwarber made 154 starts at DH (95%), and J.T. Realmuto started at catcher in a higher share of games than any other primary catcher, including the highest share of day games after night games (34 such games).

The main variable was the opposing starter's hand. Max Kepler started 94% of games against right-handers and 10% against left-handers, Bryson Stott 100% against 38%, and Brandon Marsh 82% against 21%. The rotation was just as settled: 10 pitchers started, and Jesus Luzardo and Cristopher Sanchez made 32 starts each.
